Cantus Firmus is software for organizations that plan music for worship and liturgical services, coordinate people and ensembles, manage ministry schedules and related administration, and communicate with authorized participants. Features and availability depend on the release and organization configuration. The public website is informational and does not create an application account.
An organization administrator provisions accounts and assigns access. Users must provide accurate account information, protect their credentials, use their own accounts, and report suspected unauthorized access through the organization’s approved support route. Users may access only the organization records and capabilities assigned to them. The organization or operator may limit or withdraw access under final terms and applicable law.
The organization decides whether the service is appropriate and which workflows to enable. It is responsible for authorizing users and reviewing access as roles change; providing required notices and obtaining any required legal authority or consent for information about employees, contractors, volunteers, musicians, families, or minors; choosing accurate schedules, content, recipients, and records; meeting its employment, finance, safeguarding, records, privacy, and copyright duties; setting retention, legal hold, export, and deletion rules; and checking message recipients and content before sending. The organization must not make disclosures or decisions through the service that it is not authorized to make.
Users may use Cantus Firmus only for lawful, authorized organization purposes. Users must not access records without permission, bypass access controls, disrupt or overload the service, upload malware, misuse another person’s information, or send unlawful or unsolicited communications. The organization and its users are responsible for rights and permissions covering music, scores, recordings, lyrics, documents, and other materials they enter, generate, attach, or distribute. Cantus Firmus does not grant music publishing or performance licenses.
Where enabled, an organization may connect a designated Google Workspace mailbox to send organization-directed email. The application requests gmail.send to send email as the authorized mailbox, and openid and email to identify the authorizing account; it does not request permission to read Gmail inbox messages. The organization authorizes the sender, selects recipients, and reviews message content. A queued or provider-accepted status does not guarantee delivery to a recipient’s inbox. Google services are subject to Google’s applicable terms and policies.
Cantus Firmus is in active development. Not all pages, workflows, or integrations are complete or generally available. Budget, payroll, payment settlement, self-service signups, centralized document storage, and live communications must not be treated as production-ready unless the operator confirms the specific capability for that deployment. The service may change, pause, or be unavailable during development, maintenance, or an incident. No uptime, backup, recovery time, financial calculation, email delivery, or record preservation commitment is made in this draft. Organizations should not use an incomplete workflow as their only record or payment system.
No pricing or payment terms have been approved for this draft. Before paid access begins, the final terms or an approved order must state any fees, billing frequency, taxes, renewal, and cancellation conditions.
The operator and its licensors retain their rights in Cantus Firmus software, website content, branding, and documentation. The final terms must define the organization’s access license. The organization retains its rights in information and materials it provides, subject to the permissions required to host, process, display, and transmit them as directed through the service. The organization is responsible for third-party music, scores, recordings, and document permissions. The operator’s legal identity and final license grant require review.
The Privacy Policy describes information processed by Cantus Firmus and the Google Mailroom connection. Organizations must provide any additional notices required for their users and participants. Whether a separate data-processing agreement is needed must be assessed before broader service availability.
Users should contact the organization administrator who provisioned their account. A monitored public operator support contact has not been approved for this draft. The final terms must explain suspension grounds and notices, how an organization can stop using the service, and the process for data export, deletion, or retention after access ends.
During development, the service is provided as available without a promise that every feature is complete or error-free. The final terms must preserve any warranty or right that applicable law does not allow the operator to exclude. Counsel must draft and approve warranties, liability limits, excluded damages, indemnities, consumer and employment protections, and enforceability language. This draft creates no liability cap or waiver.
The governing jurisdiction, venue, required dispute and notice process, and terms-update procedure have not been selected. Counsel and the operator must approve these provisions before publication.
Confirm the legal operator and address, effective date, monitored support contact, paid or no-fee status, service commitments, export and termination process, organization responsibilities, youth and safeguarding requirements, intellectual property and music permissions, privacy and data-processing terms, disclaimers, liability, governing law, and dispute procedures. The final version requires owner and legal review.
